Steve has worked in the financial services industry for over 27 years. Prior to CoastEdge Partners, Steve co-founded and served as president and managing partner of Gurtin Municipal Bond Management, a $14 billion investment management firm that was acquired by PIMCO in 2019. Steve previously worked at Morgan Stanley in Chicago and California, focusing on fixed-income portfolio management. Prior to Morgan Stanley, he was a manager in the financial services industry group at Accenture where he advised multiple Fortune 500 financial services firms.
Steve currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, an international nonprofit conservation organization. He also formerly served as Chairman of the San Diego Chapter of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization).
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas, where he served as class president, and an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
